    You’re growing what there?

(Riverton, Wyo.) – Priscilla Beacham said she was born with a green heart. It’s obvious that she also has a green thumb. For the past year, Beacham has been preparing four new plots of ground at the Central Wyoming College Community Garden on campus. This year they were ready for planting.

“I like anything I can plant that’s fun or new,” she said. Beachum probably has the most diverse lineup of garden plants in her plots of anyone in the garden. She ticked off the list of what she’s planted, and what is now growing, including okra, melons, beans, tomatoes, popcorn (yes, popcorn), tomatitos, artichokes, brussel sprouts, cucumbers, squash and probably a few other things. She also has a couple raspberry bushes.

Beachum and her mother, Debbie Payne, were out at the garden this morning watering her “farm” and pulling weeds and such. Those who planted flowers in the community garden are also seeing some nice blooms coming along.
