Yellowstone National Park had busy October

Yellowstone National Park officials say that the park had its third busiest October ever.

The park hosted 218,076 visits in the month, which is about a 3 percent increase from October 2017. That number puts the park visitor total of over 4 million people for 2018.

Visits are slightly less for 2018 overall than the previous two years. There have been about 60,000 fewer visitors this year compared to the same time in 2017.

The numbers this year are down about 3% compared to 2016.
