#wyostrong: Wind River’s Service Week raised over $7K for Kindergarten Student
(Pavillion, Wyo.) – Last week the Wind River Schools and Community joined together to raise money for Wind River Kindergarten student Caleb Stone.
Caleb was diagnosed with acute Lymphoblastic leukemia in 2016 at the age of 3. He spent the first month after diagnosis in Denver. According to his family, it’s been a long road, lots of trips to both Casper and Denver. Little Caleb is in maintenance right now, which means only once a month out of town trips and chemo therapy at home. He started kindergarten this year and, again according to his family, he loves it, but it tires him out. According to the Wind River staff, Caleb never complain and handles everything well. He has one more full year of chemotherapy left.
At the conclusion of the week of service, including a silent and live auction during the Wind River home games with Shoshoni last week, Caleb and his family were presented a check Friday night for $7,302.78 to help with his medical expenses.
The Wind River Schools expressed their thanks all who participated in a great week of activities and support.
Keep on fighting Caleb!
