#Wyostrong: Fremont County Search and Rescue holds 4th annual “Get Lost” carp shoot

The Riverton Division of the Fremont County Search and Rescue recently completed the 4th annual “Get Lost” carp shoot.

17 teams made up of 4 members each started at Rocky Mountain Discount Sports in Riverton and went to their favorite spots to bow hunt, yes bow hunt, carp.

The 30 largest fish were weighed and entered into the competition. A total of 8,1000 pounds of carp were harvested and 24,000 pounds of carp have been removed from local waters during the 4 years this event has taken place.

This year’s big winners, picture below, included:

3rd place – Ty Jammerman team

2nd place – Shane Fehring team

1st place – Hughes family team

Most fish – Don Hall team

Proceeds from this event will be used for member training and equipment to be used when a search is requested. This is the only fund raising event taken on by the Riverton District. Many sponsors made the event possible and allowed Search and Rescue to give away prizes.
