Riverton resident Shaylee Farrell was recently crowned Mrs. Riverton and is now preparing to compete for the title of Mrs. Wyoming. The statewide pageant is in correlation with the Mrs. Colorado pageant in Denver between May 26th-30th.

While this is her first time competing for Mrs. Wyoming, she is no stranger to the hard work and the intensity of competitions. Shaylee is an avid barrel racer and has been rodeo royalty numerous times over the years. She has also been modeling since she was seventeen both on and off the runway as well as for top names like Harley Davidson. She is the cover of the recently released Issue #9 of Shutter Up Magazine (shared below).

Shaylee shared she is most looking forward to meeting new people and promoting Riverton’s diverse community at the pageant. In her preparations, she hopes to expand her knowledge of the local community through classes and volunteering. She encouraged anyone with ideas for ways to give back to the community or know of classes happening to reach out to her on Facebook. She is also seeking sponsors for her journey.

During our conversation, it was easy to notice Shaylee’s drive to achieve when she sets her mind to something. She shared in May of 2018, she graduated from Central Wyoming College with six degrees and three certificates. “It’s important to take every opportunity that is given to you with an open mind,” Shaylee noted.

This new venture for Shaylee was encouraged by the current Mrs. Wyoming. Having her application selected and being crowned Mrs. Riverton was just the beginning. Winning Mrs. Wyoming will advance her to the national Mrs. America competition.

We’re rooting for you, Shaylee!
