(Wind River Reservation, WY) – Located inside the Wind River Hotel & Casino, Wyoming’s first-ever Sportsbook opened yesterday, September 9th. The occasion was commemorated with a ribbon-cutting and the first NFL wager among other things.
It took around two years to make this sports betting location happen, shared Lee Spoonhunter, Northern Arapaho Business Council Co-Chairman.
During their brief speeches to attendees, the NABC members in attendance credited Buffalo Sportsbook Manager Sean Ridgebear with making this a reality.
Ridgebear shared with County 10 that he is most excited about the experience and the new territory this brings with it. He also invited everyone to go check it out and noted the atmosphere is completely different.
Mike Yellowplume had the honor of placing the first NFL wager at the ceremony.
NABC Chairman Jordan Dresser was unable to attend yesterday’s ceremony, however, he shared the following in an earlier press release:
“This day is a long time coming, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome sports betting on the Wind River Reservation.”
