The second Wyoming Cowboys player taken in the 2020 National Football League Draft is inside linebacker Cassh Maluia.
Cassh was selected 204th overall in the 6th round by the New England Patriots.
Maluia started in every game his senior season and 11 games his junior season at UW. The 6’0 248 lb defensive star is originally from Compton, California. In high school, Cassh played quarterback and safety.
He joins former fellow-Poke Logan Wilson as getting picked by an NFL team this year. Wilson was selected 65th overall and the first pick of the 3rd round by the Cincinnati Bengals. Wilson was the highest selected Wyoming Cowboy drafted, who is also a Wyoming native (Casper).
With the 204th pick, the Patriots have selected LB Caash Maluia from Wyoming.
Notes on Maluia:
– Hard nosed guy from Compton, CA
– Fast, rugged linebacker (4.53 in 40)
– Projected robe a force on special teams for New England
