The Wyoming wrestling team has released its schedule for the 2018-19 season.
The Cowboys will host nine home duals, along with the season-opening Cowboy Open. The schedule features six teams that finished in the top 25 at the 2018 NCAA Championships a year ago, including home showdowns with Nebraska, South Dakota State and North Carolina. The slate also includes eight Big 12 matches with four at the UniWyo Sports Complex.
After kicking off the season with the Cowboy Open on Nov. 3, the Pokes will travel to Troy N.Y. to compete at the Journeymen Northeast Duals on Nov. 10-11.
Wyoming opens up its home dual schedule against Nebraska on Nov. 18 at the UniWyo Sports Complex, before heading back out on the road the following weekend for a matchup against Big 12 foe Oklahoma State on Nov. 25.
The Brown and Gold’s December schedule features a home meeting with conference rival North Dakota State on Dec. 8, along with appearances at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational and Reno Tournament of Champions, along with the South Beach Duals, where the Pokes will wrestle Michigan State, SIU Edwardsville, NC State and Cornell.
Wyoming starts off the New Year at home with the Cowboy Shootout, as the Pokes will host North Carolina, American and Army on Jan. 4 for a trio of matches. That event opens a homestand for the team, which also includes duals against Oregon State (Jan. 13), Air Force (Jan. 18) and West Virginia (Jan. 27).
After three road matches at Fresno State (Feb. 3), Cal State Bakersfield (Feb. 3) and Utah Valley (Feb. 8), the Cowboys return home on Feb. 10 to close out the home schedule against South Dakota State before winding down the regular season at Northern Colorado on Feb. 17.
The Big 12 Championships are scheduled for March 9-10 in Tulsa, Okla., followed by the NCAA Championships in Pittsburgh, Pa., March 21-23.
