Wyoming winter fun, snowmobiling through Yellowstone

Yellowstone National Park during the summer months can be a task, it’s beautiful but it is also super busy. So if you are like me and want to see Yellowstone in a different light and season taking a guided snowmobile ride is worth it.

There are a few different options to be able to take a ride through Yellowstone with a tour company. As far as I know, there is one option for the east entrance near Cody and a couple more in West Yellowstone.

Gary Fales Outfitting is the place to go near Cody. Then Two Top and Yellowstone Vacation Tours are in the West Yellowstone area along with Yellowstone Adventures. Now you can rent a snowmobile and go through on your own, but having a guide is so much better and safer. Plus having a guide ensures you do not do anything wrong or making mistakes. The west entrance provides two different trips, one to Old Faithful and one through the canyon. The Old Faithful trips is easier if you have kids or prefer to get warm in the warming huts, stop for hot cocoa and have a warm lunch. The canyon trip normally has a box lunch required to eat on the go.

The Canyon trip is on my list though and would be one I would brave the cold to see in the winter. Plus the snowmobiles are all heated. They can be longer trips, the canyon I believe is 45 miles round trip. The trips are available starting in December until mid-March.
