Wyoming rainfall totals nearing 1 inch in some spots; Moisture expected to continue through Tuesday

If you hadn’t noticed, we thought we’d take a moment to tell you that Memorial Day Monday will be rainy.

Rainfall totals over the last 24 hours are nearing the 1-inch mark for many communities in Northern Wyoming.

According to Riverton’s National Weather Service office Monday Morning, Crowheart recorded 3/4 of an inch of rain so far, Riverton was just over 1/2 an inch and Lander was just under 1/2 inch. That is rapidly increasing, however.

Rain is in the forecast throughout Monday evening and for most of Tuesday as well.

Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday all have a chance of moisture, but will break from the consistent rainfall and open up to sunny 60-70 degree weather.

A series of thunderstorms rolled through Fremont County Sunday night and early Monday. A few power-related issues and lightning strikes were reported in the area.
