Wyoming Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Ben Francisco first in Wyoming to use McGinley Orthopedics latest technologies

On March 9th, 2022, Ben Francisco, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at Fremont Orthopedics in Lander, performed the first two surgeries in the state of Wyoming using McGinley Orthopedics’ latest technologies. The surgeries were performed at Hot Spring County Memorial Hospital. Dr. Francisco reported, “I’m honored to be the first Wyoming orthopedic surgeon able to use Wyoming designed and made McGinley Orthopedics Lever Action Plate® and IntelliSense® HandHeld Robotic Drill improve the lives of fellow Wyomingites.”

Dr. Francisco is passionate about his work and is always seeking to improve upon the industry standard of care. Having identified the Wyoming-made IntelliSense HandHeld Robotic Drill and the Lever Action Plate System for wrist fractures as providing substantial benefits to patient outcomes, he decided to implement the products within his practice. The devices, which are used in operating rooms across the country, can be an improvement to the standard of care by enhancing patient outcomes and increasing surgical safety.

The IntelliSense® HandHeld Robotic Drill provides valuable sensor feedback in real-time to reduce the risk of plunging and ensure the correct screw measurements. The patented Lever Action Plate system for wrist fractures allows Dr. Francisco to precisely align the broken wrist bone fragments ensuring better healing and alignment of the joint surface.

The surgeries were a great success, and he is proud to report his patients are now reaping the benefits of these innovative technologies. Dr. Francisco said, “The McGinley Orthopedics Lever Action Plate® is a game-changer for the treatment of distal radius fractures.”
“I am lucky to use such strong innovation from McGinley Orthopedics that allows me to provide even better care for my patients with complex wrist fractures,” said Dr. Francisco.
