Wyoming native earns spot on the speedskating world cup team at the U.S. Long Track Championships

    The final day of skating at the U.S. Long Track Championships started with the Ladies 1500m. Kimi Goetz (Flemington, N.J.) finished with a personal best time of 1:59.21 to earn a spot at the top of the podium and her first national title. Paige Schwartzburg (Ocala, Fla.) skated to a second-place finish and Brianna Bocox (Cheyenne, Wyo.) landed in third with a personal best time of 1:59.37.

    “I’m excited for the rest of the season,” said Brianna Bocox. “I think the skating is all coming together with every race, every time trial and every practice. There’s some technical stuff I can improve on but I only see it going up, so hopefully more success. I’m really pleased with the weekend. I’m glad my family got to be here when I got three personal bests.”

    Paige Schwartzburg – 1:59.27

    Brianna Bocox – 1:59.37 (PB)

    Bocox will travel to Hamar, Norway to compete at World Cup 5, Feb. 1-3. She will compete in the 500m, 1000m and 1500m.
