(Uinta County, WY) – 74-year-old Wyoming resident Arnold Olguin was fatally injured in an October 13th crash occurring on I-80/US-189, according to a preliminary crash report from the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Four other individual were also involved in the crash, but no injuries were reported.

The semi had been eastbound on I-80 and was turning around in the cross-over at a gate that was closed due to a rolling road-closure on the eastbound side, when it made a left-hand turn in front of the pickup in the westbound lanes.

The pickup then collided with the semi, and entered into a counterclockwise rotation.

The right-side of the pickup then collided with the left rear corner of a different semi trailer, which was parked in the emergency lane on the westbound side of I-80, also due to the road closure.

At this time no other possible contributing factors were given, but the report indicates there was improper use of the seatbelt.
