Following the two varsity matches, the Lodge Grass teams were invited to an enormous carry-in style meal provided by students, staff members, and community residents.

Teams also paid tribute to 16-year-old Selena Shelley Faye Not Afraid. Not afraid was reported missing on New Year’s Day and has not been found.

The Montana resident was last seen at a rest area on Interstate 90 between Billings and Hardin, leaving a disabled vehicle and walking through a field near the rest area. Authorities from Montana, Wyoming, and South Dakota have searched on foot, horseback, air, and K-9.

Not Afriad is 5’9 133 lbs with black hair and brown eyes. She has a scar on her face, near her mouth and a tattoo of a cross on a middle finger. Anyone with information on Not Afraid’s whereabouts should contact their local authorities or the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office at 406-665-9780.

Both teams, boys and girls, wore Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls t-shirts in solidarity to honor the missing girl and help raise awareness about Not Afraid, as well as the #MMIWG epidemic and movement.
