The National Weather Service office in Riverton is advising that there have been far more tornado warnings in 2018, than any time in the past 12 years.
In 2017, there were just 19 warnings overall. So far in 2018, there have been 51 warnings.
The most warnings between 2006-2017 was 34 in 2010. The average number of warnings per year since 2006 is 19.
While southeast Wyoming is seeing the most tornado activity this year, the Gillette and Douglas areas both saw a tornado within the last few days.
