The social media page College Sports Logos created a 68 team bracket and had its fans vote for the best logo in college sports.
Yesterday, Wyoming’s Cowboys knocked off the South Dakota State Jackrabbits for the best mascot in the nation.
Wyoming knocked off BYU, North Dakota State, Boise State, San Jose State, and Creighton to advance to the championship game before beating South Dakota State 53%-47% of the overall vote.
The nickname Cowboys was given to the Wyoming athletic teams in 1891. When women’s sports were added at UW, the nickname of Cowgirls was applied.
