    Wyoming authorities urge residents to be on the lookout for wanted man

    (Cheyenne, WY) – Cheyenne, Wyoming authorities are asking residents statewide, and in neighboring states, to be on the lookout for 46-year-old Tracy Hoops. Hoops is wanted in both Wyoming and Arizona.

    Earlier this month, Hoops evaded law enforcement near Cheyenne after crashing through two fences and destroying property. A full release from the Cheyenne Police Department is posted below.

    On 2/12/21 at approximately 7:00pm, 46-year-old Cheyenne resident, Tracy Hoops, led police on a chase in northern Cheyenne. After crashing through two fences north of Cheyenne, Hoops drove through a rural property before abandoning the vehicle, which belonged to his employer. Though assistance was provided by the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Laramie County Sheriff’s Office, Laramie County Fire District #2 in tracking shoe impressions in the snow for several miles, Hoops was able to evade capture that evening. It was determined Hoops was able to get a ride from unsuspecting citizens to another location south of Cheyenne.

    Hoops currently has an active arrest warrant from Arizona with nationwide extradition for parole violations. Hoops is also wanted by the Cheyenne Police department for criminal offenses committed in relation to this pursuit.
