Wyoming 10-year-old organizes lemonade stand for new iPad; Instead donates it all to animal shelter

Rock Springs 10-year-old Brennan Welch decided he wanted to earn a new iPad this summer. So he set up a lemonade stand in hopes to raise enough money for his device. Somewhere along the day of lemonade sales, Welch decided he wanted to donate the money to a local animal shelter instead of buying his iPad.

After a successful day of sales, Welch’s profits unfortunately fell victim to a common Wyoming enemy. The wind.

After most of his money blew away in the wind, he didn’t give up and set the lemonade stand up again. Ultimately, he earned a total of $400 that he donated to Rock Springs animal shelter. He helped buy toys, treats, brushes, collars, beds, and leashes for the animals.

The Rock Springs Animal Control Department and Rock Springs Evidence Department were so impressed with Brennan, they decided to put together a collection to help the young man get his iPad. According to the Rock Springs Police Department, the support from the City of Rock Springs was overwhelming. Last week, Welch was presented with a brand new iPad, keyboard, waterproof case, and a $50 iTunes gift card. Welch’s mom was also given a Walmart gift card to help Brennan with any additional resources he needed.
