WYDOT future plans include traffic signal installation at Main & Major intersection

It’s no secret that the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) has been busy in Riverton throughout 2018, especially with the North Federal project.

2019 will, of course, see more work focused on North Federal.

WYDOT is now looking ahead to their 2020/2021 plans, and Riverton is again a focal point for improvements.

Public Relations Specialist Cody Beers was able to pass along some of the future plans that will affect local drivers.

    2020 updates:

    • New traffic signal installation and intersection rebuild at Main & Major
    • ADA upgrades to Main between N. 2nd Street and Hill Street (asphalt pavement section, fix broken curb, gutter, and sidewalk)

2020 projects total about $2.3 million right now.

    2021 updates:

    • Main Street pavement rehabilitation between N. Federal Boulevard and North 2nd Street (concrete pavement)
    • Fix broken curb and gutter, minor ADA ramp repairs

Total cost for the 2021 projects so far is about $1.3 million.
