The invocation was given by Pastor Dale Adams of the Lighthouse Bible Church. A color guard presented the flags of the U.S. Armed Services and was composed of CAP cadets C/SrAmn Nicholas Stong and C/SrAmn Timothy Stong, supplemented by other volunteers, including Doug Thompson, a former CAP Cadet and Army/USAF ROTC cadet. The veterans and auxiliaries presenting the ceremonial wreaths were in order of precedence, David Varney, E4 Ret., for Army, Charlie Ginsburg, Cpl Ret., for USMC, Philip Mark, LCDR Ret., for Navy, Yvonne Mark, RM2 E5 Ret., Navy for Coast Guard and Joe Stong, SM CAP, for USAF. Location Leader, Capt. Karl Falken, read the ceremony script and letters of greeting from U.S. Senators John Barrasso and Mike Enzi, Congresswoman Liz Cheney and State Representative Tim Salazar. Capt. Falken also read a proclamation from Riverton Mayor Richard Gard. Following the ceremony, the volunteers placed the remaining wreaths on the graves of veterans throughout the cemetery. Pepper Ottman, who has participated previously, said, “Participation in Wreaths Across America is moving and an important part of my life experience. To think of those who served, are serving and will serve is a humbling and gratifying experience.”

Jordan Yager was recognized as the most outstanding volunteer for collecting 79 sponsorships. Jordan and his parents Jim and Julie Yager also placed most of the grave specific requests. Special thanks are due to Michele Rambo of the Shoshoni Recreation District #24 who received the shipment of wreaths and delivered it from Shoshoni to Riverton.

After the flags and stands were packed up, the hundreds of wreaths resting gently in the snow, some of the volunteers gathered at the Depot Restaurant in Riverton to warm up over hot cocoa.
