    Wolverine boys, Paxton leading halfway through state golf

    (Lander, WY) – After day one of the two-day state golf tournament, the Riverton High School boys lead the pack.

    RHS heads into Saturday with a 20-stroke advantage over Worland. Lander Valley High School golfers currently rank 6th in team standings.

    Individually, RHS sophomore Parker Paxton is hoping to repeat as state champion. Parker shot a day one 66, which was six strokes ahead of Worland’s Karsten Simmons. Lander’s Sequiel Lozier shot an 80 and is in 6th place. Meanwhile, Riverton’s Brodie Dale and Kyler Graham each shot an 81 and are tied for 7th place.

    The Green River ladies lead the 3A team field. Lander’s ladies currently rank 5th overall. LVHS’ Maddie Korell shot a day-one 81 and is in 4th place individually. Lovell’s Erika Cook leads the field after shooting a 74.

    3A action continues Saturday from the Lander Country Club and state champions will be announced later today!
