The majority of Wyoming roadways are under advisory or closed as of this morning. Most of Fremont County is listed as ‘slick with snowfall.’ However, US 28 is closed between mile marker 63 and the Fremont/Sublette County line. WY 135 between WY 789 and Sweetwater Junction is listed as ‘no unnecessary travel.’

Crash reports streamed in all day in Fremont County yesterday. Please slow down, use caution while traveling this week. The most up-to-date road conditions can be found here.

WYDOT’s ‘Rules of the Road’ reminder:

  • Wet road – Reduce speed by at least 5-10 mph.
  • Packed snow – Reduce speed by at least half.
  • Ice – Reduce speed to a crawl. You may have to slow even more if vehicles are ahead.

The weather forecast for Fremont County has a bleak outlook if you were hoping for less snow over the Thanksgiving weekend. A ‘winter storm warning’ remains in effect until 12:00 pm today. Wednesday remains cold across Fremont County and snow starts again on Thursday and continues into the weekend. Your local forecast can be found here.

Stay safe out there!
