Winners announced in Riverton Winter Car Show

The 2019 Rocky Mountain Rebels Indoor Winter Car Show was held at the Fremont County Fairgrounds Saturday.

This is the 11th year in a row the group has hosted the winter show, and this year they teamed up with the Rocky Mountain Antique Snowmobile Association. Antique snowmobiles and classic cars and trucks were all on display.

Event organizer Ty Becker explained that the show featured about 20 cars in the contest, which was lower than anticipated. “I expected more but I think Friday’s snow and fog scared a few away.”

He did say, however, the attendance from the public was excellent.

Patrons had the chance to vote for their favorite vehicles, and ultimately the top three winners were declared. Becker said despite a lower than anticipated vehicle turnout, the show featured some great looking vehicles. “The winners were definitely deserving of the award” he added.

Darce Laws of Casper won the 1st place overall people’s choice award for his red Oldsmobile 442 W31.

Second place finisher was Lander’s Joe Kenny who entered a 1953 Chevrolet BelAir.

The bronze medal went to Jason Sack for his Chevy Nova race car.

Becker noted that voting was very close, with three different vehicles only 1 or 2 votes behind the top three.
