    Willis Lyle Huggins Jr

Willis Lyle Huggins Jr, 73, died on September 16, 2018 at the home of his daughter in Riverton, Wyoming.

At Willie’s request, no funeral service will be held. Instead he requested that friends and acquaintances spend time with their families, enjoying each other’s company and saying all the things that shouldn’t remain unsaid.

Willie Huggins was born on September 25, 1944 to Willis L. Huggins and Elizabeth Jean Bayer Huggins at Fort Warren in Cheyenne. He lived briefly in Michigan, Craig, Colorado and Rock Springs during childhood and his family finally settled in Lander while Willie was still in elementary school. He was a 1963 graduate of FCVHS.

Willie was a devoted husband and father who loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting firearms. Much of his love for the outdoors he credited to his grandfather, Charles Bayer who ranched in the Pinedale area. Willie loved to reload ammunition with bullets he had cast and was an avid student of ballistics. He loved spending time riding his Harley and the freedom it gave him.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Jean Huggins, an infant daughter, Jessica Miriam and three grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Laura; siblings Polly Milburn and Peggy Kellch of Lander, Charles Huggins of the Denver area, his children: Shelley Billings, Jennifer Daschle and Brian Huggins of Rapid City; Ray Huggins and Natalie Rosendahl of Riverton, Heidi Allen of Basin and Joshua Huggins of Lander, 20 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

The family requests that donations in Willie’s memory be sent in his name to: The Huntsman Cancer Institute 1950 Cir of Hope Dr, Salt Lake City, UT 84112.
