    Wildfire northeast of Gillette is 40% contained as of Tuesday

    (Gillette, WY) – As of Tuesday morning, the Dry Fork Fire is 3,197 acres and is 40% contained, according to the Campbell County Fire Department update. The grass and timber fire was first discovered off of Heald Road on July 18th at around 2:45 pm.

    Currently, 84 personnel from several agencies, including from Kansas and Colorado, are working the fire. “Personnel will remain on the scene again today working on hot spots on the fire,” said CCFD’s update.

    A 40-acre fire located 30 miles south of Cody near Meeteetse was reported on July 19th by the Rocky Mountain Area Coordination Center. No updates on the size or containment of this fire have been shared this morning. We will share information as it becomes available.
