WHP releases names, additional information on fatal Lander rollover that claimed the lives of two juveniles

UPDATE: County 10 has been informed that information in the Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP) preliminary report linked in the post is incorrect. Shayni Brown was incorrectly reported as one of the deceased, when in fact she was the third occupant who survived the crash. Davis funeral home reached out to inform us the correct name of the deceased is Brianna Brown. We sincerely regret the error and have contacted the WHP, who are in the process of making a correction to the report.

(Lander, WY) – On Monday, March 28th, the Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP) released the preliminary report of the fatal wreck that occurred on Thursday, March 24th in Lander, which resulted in the deaths of two local youths.

A third party who was also in the vehicle sustained injuries, but the report did not provide their name or current condition.

According to the report, the vehicle was northbound on Tweed Lane, going at a high rate of speed, when it exited the roadway to the left, entered the borrow ditch, and subsequently a drainage canal.

The vehicle became airborne after traveling through the canal for a period, at which point it entered a driver’s side leading rollover until it came to rest on the southbound side of the roadway.

None of the occupants were restrained, and two were completely ejected and succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
