    WHP released details of fatal November crash over weekend

    (Johnson County, WY) – On Saturday, December 11th, the Wyoming High Patrol (WHP) released the preliminary report from a fatal crash occurring on November 27th in Johnson County.

    The rollover was reported at 9:02 AM, and occurred on Trabing Road-CR 13, resulting in the death of the driver, 34-year-old Wyoming resident Lonnie Brakebill.

    The report goes on to state that Brakebill was traveling Northwest on Trabing Road near the intersection of Wallow Creek Road, when the vehicle left the roadway on the right side, overcorrected left, causing the vehicle to rotate counterclockwise.

    The vehicle rotated approximately 270 degrees as it left the roadway to the left, and once off the roadway the vehicle tripped and rolled 1 1/4 times, coming to rest on its driver’s side.

    The driver died of crushing head injuries and the passenger was uninjured.

    There are no possible contributing factors listed at this time, but the report indicates that no seatbelt was in use.

    To date, there have been 108 fatalities on Wyoming’s roadways in 2021, compared to 124 in 2020, 142 in 2019, and 109 in 2018.
