Shoshoni resident Jordan Whitener has announced his candidacy for a seat on the Fremont County School District #24 School Board.

I chose to run for the school board as I have deep roots as an alumni and previously was a staff member and coach in Shoshoni. I have a passion to watch kids blossom and succeed. I believe their K-12 years are the most important as it truly molds the individual. I also believe my work ethic, knowledge, and care for Shoshoni and our youth/ community sets me apart.
Things I hope to accomplish are continuing the growth to maintain the excellence we currently enjoy. I have a desire to fully explore the issues that the board faces, to constantly engage the community, and to continue moving forward T the highest caliber possible.
The workings of the board shouldn’t constitute accomplishments, but ensure that those who are responsible for the accomplishments in principals, teachers, janitors, kitchen staff, and students are given the resources to fulfill their needs, and goals.
