(Lander, WY) – 1330 KOVE AM / 107.7 FM’s Coffee Time host Vince Tropea was joined by Liz Lightner for today’s show, where she filled us in on the upcoming advanced directive discussion she will be leading next Thursday, to be immediately followed by the Lander Death Cafe.

The discussion will begin at 5:00 PM next Thursday, December 9th in the Carnegie Room at the Lander Library, and should last about an hour and fifteen minutes, according to the Facebook event page.

The Death Cafe will take place as soon as the discussion comes to an end.

So, what is a Death Cafe? It’s best to let Liz describe it in detail, but basically, “A Death Cafe is a scheduled non-profit get-together for the purpose of talking about death over food and drink, usually tea and cake.”

Lightner, who will lead the Death Cafe discussion, also founded and operates Better Your Goodbyes, a business that aims to “Provide support, comfort, and guidance to a person and their loved ones before, during, and after death, so that they may have the most loving, peaceful, and painless experience possible.”

Her role as an ‘end-of-life doula‘ also caught the attention of Time magazine, which interviewed Liz moments before her appearance on Coffee Time.
