(Fremont County, WY) – Conductor Rebecca Murdock has announced that the Fremont Symphony Orchestra is auditioning string and flute musicians for the orchestra’s 2021 concert season.
She said, “String players can audition by calling Kathy or John Cundy at 332-9599 to get the audition materials and set up an audition.”
Auditions must be complete by September 3rd, Murdock added.
The orchestra will begin its 2021 rehearsals on September 15th and will be performing its first concert on Saturday, November 6th at 7 pm. The performance will be at the Lander Valley High School auditorium.
Murdock, the director of the orchestra since the late 1970s, will be conducting the orchestra in a special program of popular works. Featured at the concert will be local musical soloists Dan Foster on clarinet and Kelly Dehnert on trumpet.
Foster will be performing the Artie Shaw “Concerto” and Dehnert will perform an arrangement of his original contemporary jazz work, “Finally.”
Joining Dehnert, Foster, and the orchestra will be WyoJazz, a professional jazz combo with members from Fremont County and Worland.
