#WhatsHappening: “Back 2 School Carnival” starts August 19th in Riverton

It’s hard to miss all the carnival rides at the Fremont County Fairgrounds this week in preparation for the Back 2 School Carnival August 19th-23rd.

Tickets for the carnival are $25 and can be purchased online from the Fremont County Fair and at Bailey’s Pitstops in Lander or Riverton. Tickets can also be purchased at the carnival for $30.

If you were bummed you didn’t get to ride the Ferris wheel this summer, well, you are in luck. The fair’s usual carnival provider, Carnival Midway Attractions (CMA), had an open weekend and are bringing their usual fair rides right here to Fremont County.

County 10 reached out to CMA to see what COVID-19 precautions they are taking, and we ended up speaking with owner Tony Guadagno.

This will be the third carnival CMA has done in Wyoming this summer, Tony explained. Most recently was the State Fair in Douglas.

A few of the COVID precautions Tony shared include: fogging, hand sanitizer stations, providing wipes, employees are required to wear masks, and the public asked to wear masks as well.

Employee temps are also checked daily and logged, and they are tested for COVID. “We are concerned as much for our employees as we are for the public,” he said.

Fremont County Fair employees have asked that folks leave the front parking lot open and park in the county lot across the street. There is a dance recital happening at the fairgrounds during this time.
