“Fast forward twenty years and we are a community in decline… What can we do to turn this around?”

A letter by Mike Cunningham, in support of Gard for Mayor:

My wife and I moved to Riverton twenty-two years ago to start a new job and raise a family. The town was prospering, people were friendly and we set roots in the community. My daughter was born at the Riverton Hospital. We’ve raised two children here and loved living in the small-town atmosphere of Riverton, Wyoming.

Fast forward twenty years and we are a community in decline. While other towns seem to be prospering, Riverton seems to be in decay. What can we do to turn this around? For starters, let’s elect people that can and will make a difference.

Let’s not accept having our hospital shut down, businesses close, our public parks become hangouts for drunks, our children moving away to find meaningful employment. There is a man running for Mayor of Riverton that shares these same beliefs – Rich Gard.

He has deep roots in this community. He has raised a family here, operates a business here alongside his brother, is involved with his church, and devotes time to the youth of our community. He also has prior experience serving on the city council. You won’t find a person more dedicated to helping our community.

In the fifteen years I have been involved with my own business, I have never come across a more honest and fairer person. Rich Gard is not a politician. He is someone who cares about our community and is willing to step up to the plate to help make this city a place we can all be proud to live in.

Please join me in supporting Rich Gard for Mayor!
