On September 11th, the Fremont County Veterans Memorial in Lander was rededicated to honor Fremont County Veterans and all who have served. The memorial was originally dedicated on July 16th, 2011.
A large crowd of veterans, residents, and government officials gathered at the memorial outside of the Fremont County Courthouse to watch and pay their respects.
The Don Stough Post 33 Color Guard presented the colors. 307 Alliance Singers performed the “Flag Song” during the presentation.

Lander Valley High School Senior Sam Kistemann sang the National Anthem.
Ceremony speakers included retired Chief Master Sergeant Bob Townsend, Chaplain Jason Nunn, Colonel Kent Porter, and Don Stough Post 33 Adjutant Ken Persson, Sr.
The Lander Volunteer Fire Department Pipe & Drum Band performed the “Scottish Soldier” to the tune of the “Green Hills of Tyrol.” Playing today was Pipe Major Melissa Bautz, Alex Johnston, and Lander Volunteer Fire Department Chief Bobby Johnston.
American Legion Don Stough Post No. 33 in Lander organized today’s rededication ceremony. A video of the ceremony can be watched below.
