Volunteers turn out for spring cleanup of WAA

(Riverton, WY) – On February 26th, six volunteers turned out to pick up the over 450 wreaths laid last December for the 2021 Wreaths Across America event. Many hands made light work and the cleanup went very quickly and cheerfully in the fine weather.

“The live balsam wreaths looked quite handsome decorating the graves of our departed veterans in last winter’s snow, but it was time to retire them and make way for Flags For the Fallen coming up in May,” shared Location Leader Karl Falken.

Regulars Charles and Nancy Ginsberg collected wreaths in the main area near the VFW monument and other veterans sections with Tina Shaw and Kinzie Johnson while Milan Vinich cruised the cemetery for grave-specific requests scattered singly among the 9000+ monuments in the 226-acre cemetery.

Falken assisted and hauled the wreaths off in his pickup for disposal. Thanks to all the other volunteers and sponsors, Sexton Dan Ladd & crew, and the Mountain View Cemetery District for their support.
