Volunteerism likely to see a boost with the help of Leadership FC and people like you

A group of individuals from the 2018-19 Leadership Fremont County class are seeking to increase volunteerism in our communities and connect possible volunteers with organizations that could use help.

It all began with the idea to boost positivity and overall happiness in the county. The LFC group pondered the question, “What truly makes a person happy?”

A loaded question, no doubt, but as a group they came to the conclusion that “a great deal of happiness and fulfillment can come from serving others, rather than ourselves,” explained Amanda Gaudern, of County 10 and a Leadership Fremont County member.

“We’re not saying this is the ultimate, right answer but the exercise made us all reflect on our own lives and we decided that there’s a special thing that happens when you bring joy to others. That joy- it has a way of coming back to you. It’s more fulfilling.”

For the month of April, Leadership Fremont County would like to invite anyone and everyone in the community to join them in service to others in need.

    Not sure where to start?
LFC has developed a comprehensive list of Fremont County non-profits and other organizations that are the backbone of Fremont County’s charitable sector. Simply give them a call and ask how you can help in the month of April!

Some organizations need a group of volunteers (hint: bring your friends along!) for very specific projects they need to tackle. Others are regularly seeking volunteers any day. LFC has also shared some fun, easy and unique ways to bring joy to others this April.

The following list has been provided by Leadership Fremont County. If you know of an organization that you would like them to add, please email [email protected].

    • Child Development Services of Fremont County
    • Lander Library Friends Association
    • Riverton Community Food Bank
    • Opportunity Shop in Dubois
    • and more!

“Serving others can be as simple as calling in flowers to be sent to residents at Westward Heights, for example. Or buying the person’s coffee behind you at the coffee shop,” expressed Gaudern.

There are dozens, upon dozens, of organizations that help others in need throughout our community. All of the organizations listed could use support in one way or another. Would you consider devoting some time and/or resources to one of these orgs in service to others?

Join Leadership Fremont County for the month of April and call one or more of the organizations today to volunteer!
