    U.S. Attorney’s Office announces four sentencings

    (Wyoming) – The Department of Justice announced the below sentencings on November 9th for the following four individuals.

    United States District Court Judge Nancy D. Freudenthal sentenced Sean Thomas, 49, of Farson, on October 20th, 2021 for tax evasion. He received five years of supervised probation and was ordered to pay $103,696 in restitution and a $100.00 special assessment. The Internal Revenue Service-Criminal Investigation investigated the case, and it was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Eric J. Heimann.

    Chief Federal District Court Judge Scott W. Skavdahl sentenced Brittany Weaver 32, of Cheyenne, on October 29th, 2021 for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and carrying a firearm during and relation to a drug trafficking crime. She received 120 months of imprisonment, to be followed by ten years of supervised release, and ordered to pay a $200.00 special assessment. The Drug Enforcement Administration investigated this case, and it was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jonathan C. Coppom.

    United States District Court Judge Nancy D. Freudenthal sentenced Marcelino Cortes-Crus, 34, of Honduras on November 4th, 2021 for illegal re-entry of previously deported alien into the United States. He received four months imprisonment and was ordered to pay a $100.00 special assessment. The United States Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement investigated the case, and it was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Eric J. Heimann.

    United States District Court Judge Nancy D. Freudenthal sentenced Victor Cruz-Moreno, of Mexico on November 4th, 2021 for illegal re-entry of previously deported alien into the United States. He received time served plus up to 10 days to allow for deportation and a $100.00 special assessment. The United States Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement investigated the case, and it was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Michael J. Elmore.
