    Two Missouri residents killed in weekend crash

    (Dayton, WY) – Two died and four others were injured in a crash that involved a car and two motorcycles near milepost 64 on US-14 west of Dayton just after 4 pm on July 3rd, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

    The driver of the car, Scott Nicholson, of Banner, Wyoming, was traveling westbound during a heavy rainstorm when he reportedly lost control while negotiating a curve that caused him to cross into the eastbound lane and collide with two motorcyclists.

    Plattsburg, Missouri residents Brett Dickerson, 56, and Robin Dickerson, 57, were both wearing helmets and succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the crash.

    Nicholson and the three passengers were wearing a seatbelt and transported to the Sheridan Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.

    WHP shared the car had very poor tire tread, and both equipment failure and speed on the part of Nicholson are being investigated as potential contributing factors.

    These are the 46th and 47th fatalities on Wyoming’s roadways in 2021 compared to 47 in 2020, 84 in 2019, and 47 in 2018 to date.
