    Two juveniles face multiple charges for firearm, medication theft; RPD advises folks to lock cars

    All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    (Riverton, WY) – Two 17-year-old juvenile males reportedly admitted to and were charged with theft of firearms, burglary, curfew, possession and possession of a controlled substance, according to the Riverton Police Department arrest report call log released on September 6.

    The incident, reported around 12:19 AM, involved a local resident who witnessed the two males, one from Riverton, one from Pavillion, attempting to break into a passenger vehicle in the area of Jefferson and Adams.

    The witness reportedly stayed on the phone with RPD until they were able to make contact with the juveniles.

    According to the RPD report, both were armed with three different pistols and had numerous items they had stolen from unlocked cars around town, including two handguns and some prescription medications that were reported as missing.

    Both reportedly admitted to having broken into cars, and said that they were only entering
    unlocked vehicles.

    RPD reminds people to lock their cars, especially if there are firearms present, and to report any missing firearms or medication
