    Two Fremont County teams bring home state golf championships

    The Lander boys and the Riverton girls both won state high school golf championships this weekend!

    Both teams compete in class 3A, which held their event on Afton’s picturesque golf course.

    On the ladies side, Lander finished 2nd, and Douglas took 3rd. On the boys side, Worland took 2nd and Star Valley finished 3rd. Riverton’s boys took 5th place out of the 13 teams competing.

    Individually, Lander’s Jaren Calkins shot a two-day 138 to lead the boys field. Lander’s Rachel Stoinski shot a two-day 152, besting her nearest competitor by 25 strokes.

    The Kelly Walsh boys and Thunder Basin High School girls golf teams won the 4A state golf event in Gillette, and the Thermopolis boys and Sundance girls won 2A state golf in Lusk.
