Two Fremont County residents charged with endangering children

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Amanda Brown, 36, of Fremont County, is facing three counts of delivery of methamphetamine and two counts of endangering children. Lawrence Slowbear, 34, of Fremont County, is facing two counts of endangering children.

Court documents describe a confidential source allegedly purchasing methamphetamine from Brown on many occasions between March 1st, 2018 and March 19th, 2019.

Court documents also describe a confidential informant allegedly purchasing methamphetamine on May 3rd, 2019 and May 7th, 2019 at the residence of Brown and Slowbear in Riverton. It is noted that two children approximately under the age of six were at the residence during both methamphetamine purchases made by the confidential informant. Both purchases tested “presumptive positive for methamphetamine.”

Brown appeared on June 26th, 2019 for a preliminary examination. This matter is now being transferred to District Court. Brown is being charged with:

  • Three counts delivery of methamphetamine (felony) has a maximum penalty of imprisonment of not more than 20 years, a fine of not more than $25,000 or both.
  • Two counts endangering children (felony) has a maximum penalty of imprisonment of not more than 5 years, a fine of not more than $5,000 or both.

Slowbear waived his preliminary hearing and is being transferred to District Court. Slowbear is being charged with:

  • Two counts endangering children (felony) has a maximum penalty of imprisonment of not more than 5 years, a fine of not more than $5,000 or both.
