    Two Ethete men arrested after series of hit-and-run incidents in Riverton

    Two men from Ethete have been arrested after allegedly driving recklessly and leaving the scene of multiple accidents.

    20-year-old Josiah Arthur was arrested in Riverton Thursday shortly after 1:00 p.m. for reckless driving, failure to maintain lane of travel, no driver’s license, and duty to stop at property damage accident. A 21-year-old, Andy Hutchison, was also arrested for interference.

    Reports Friday afternoon suggested that the vehicle caused intentional damage to three separate vehicles, then fled each incident.

    Authorities were first notified of the reckless driver from a call placed at 1:05 p.m. Thursday. The caller described a GMC Sierra had passed her and other vehicles unsafely, in a no-passing zone on Broadway Avenue.

    Two additional calls were placed at 1:08 p.m. and 1:11 p.m. about the Sierra. One caller said the GMC struck a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck near Riverton High School, and another call said the same vehicle struck a car on Sunset near the Riverton Hospital.

    The Riverton Police Department is still investigating the incident. We have not yet received an update on injuries and the extent of the damage. When we are provided with additional information, we’ll update this story.
