Twice daily flights now available at Central Wyoming Regional Airport; local officials ‘pleased’ by increase in bookings

Riverton city officials say they are “very pleased” with the community response to the two daily flights now available at Central Wyoming Regional Airport.

“People were thirsty for these second flights, and as soon as they were available, they’ve started booking them,” City Administrator Kyle Butterfield said during a Riverton City Council meeting Tuesday. “We’re excited that schedule is now in place and people can book that second flight any day of the week.”

Advance booking reports from SkyWest Airlines showed 413 more tickets have already been reserved for this June (3,195) compared to the same month in 2023 (2,782), Butterfield said, and for July, the 60-day advance booking number (1,850) is more than 300 points higher than for June (1,543).

“These gains in passenger volume directly correlate to the demand Fremont County has for commercial air service,” Butterfield said. “I am excited that our community has responded so quickly to the added capacity provided by the second daily flight.”
