    Trial set for 5 defendants charged in firearm trafficking conspiracy

    (Cheyenne, WY) – Acting United States Attorney Bob Murray announced today, October 13th, that the United States District Court for the District of Wyoming has completed arraignment hearings and set a trial date for five defendants from Wyoming, California and Nevada

    They are charged by indictment with conspiracy to make false statements during the purchase of firearms and to unlawfully transport and transfer firearms outside of the state of Wyoming.

    The co-conspirators charged include Sherwin Williams, 26, of Lancaster, California, Tierra Holland, 33, of Cheyenne, Darwin Thomas, 33, of Cheyenne, Dexter Thomas 31, of Gardena, California, and Phillip Flores, of Las Vegas, Nevada. The trial is set for January 18th, 2022, and is expected to last eight days.

    These crimes are being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation; Laramie Police Department, and the Cheyenne Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Timothy J. Forwood is prosecuting the case.

    An indictment merely contains allegations, and every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
