    Tourist injured in bear attack in northern Wyoming

    According to the Powell Tribune, a 48-year-old man from Minnesota was injured in a bear attack near Powell, Wyoming.

    Bradley Johnson of Plymouth, Minnesota was hiking with two friends when he encountered two bears Sunday afternoon near the Wyoming-Montana border.

    The report says that Johnson had hiked ahead of his group right before the attack. He received severe injuries to his arm, shoulder, and back.

    Park County Sheriff’s had to hike about 1-mile to reach the man, where they then carried him to a helicopter.

    He was transported to a hospital in Billings, Montana where he is being treated. Wildlife officials are still trying to determine what type of bears were involved.
