Tigers, Wranglers and Cougars to advance to State High School Football Playoffs

Three Fremont County high school football teams will be playing in the post season. Lander Valley, Shoshoni and Wind River will all have their respective seasons extended, while the season is over for Riverton (0-8), Dubois (1-7), St. Stephens (2-6) and Wyoming Indian (1-7).

Wind River, with a county-best 5-3 record, lost a coin flip to Shoshoni and will go up against the state’s number one ranked Class 1A team Big Horn this Friday night in Sheridan County at 5 p.m. The Wranglers, who finished at 4-4 and lost to Wind River three weeks ago, won the coin flip and will be seeded second behind Cokeville. Rocky Mountain, who split the season series with Wind River and lost to Shoshoni and ended up 3-5 on the season, gets the third place seeding. The winners will move on to the state semi-finals in two weeks.

Lander Valley, with a 3-2 conference mark and a 4-4 season record overall, will play at 7-1 Jackson Hole this Friday in the Tigers first game of the 2018 playoffs.
