Three Fremont County 2A wrestlers win state championships

(Casper, WY) – Five Fremont County class 2A wrestlers made their respective championship matches at Thursday’s State Championship in Casper. Three of them won gold.

Shoshoni’s Pehton Truempler claimed the championship in the 145 lb division, while fellow Wrangler Tryston Truempler won the 160 lb class. Tryston repeats as champion at 152. Wind River’s Tucker Jensen won the 220 lb class.

Meanwhile, Shoshoni’s Jonathan Hilder finished runner-up in the 285 lb class and Wyatt Trembly of Dubois came up second in the 152 lb division.


Wright won the 2A team championship, followed by Kemmerer and Cokeville. Shoshoni came in 6th overall ,Wind River 9th, and Dubois 17th.

3rd Place – Duke Gibble of Shoshoni


1st Place – Tryston Truempler of Shoshoni

(Championship match) – Tryston Truempler (Shoshoni) 37-2, Sr. over Jacob Goodrich (Wright) 30-9, Sr. (Fall 1:32)


6th Place – Colter Collver of Wind River


1st Place – Tucker Jensen of Wind River

(Championship match) – Tucker Jensen (Wind River) 24-7, So. over Tate Clutter (Greybull/Riverside) 22-5, Sr. (Fall 4:59)


2nd Place – Jonathan Hilder of Shoshoni

(Championship match) – Remington Ferree (Thermopolis) 18-1, Sr. over Jonathan Hilder (Shoshoni) 36-3, Sr. (Fall 5:01)

6th Place – Cole Barrett of Wind River
