The search is on to resolve poverty and economic disparity
Tuesday, July 18th join The Wind River Native Advocacy Center to learn about how issues of poverty and economic disparity affect members of the Wind River Community. The Wind River Gathering on Economic Opportunity will take place at the Wind River Hotel and Casino in the Cottonwood Room from 10am till 4pm.
The morning will feature a panel discussion on the economic disparity, causes of disparity, poverty and the solutions the reservation could look into, moving forward. Speaking panel members include Lillian Zuniga from the Office of Health Equity, Cy Lee the executive director of the Wind River Development Fund, local tribal leader Allison Sage, and Melodie Edwards from Wyoming Public Media.
After a provided lunch presentations from local tribal leader Wes Martel, Central Wyoming College, the University of Wyoming, and the Department of Workforce Services will discuss economic opportunities and the development of the Wind River Reservation moving forward.
