Thanksgiving will be slightly warmer than average in Riverton and Lander; Snow chances this weekend

According to the National Weather Service office in Riverton, Thanksgiving for Riverton and Lander will be slightly warmer than average.

Both communities are expected to reach the mid-40’s in the late afternoon. Lander’s average high on “turkey-day” is 40 degrees, and Riverton’s is 39.

That said, neither community appears to be in jeopardy of breaking the all-time high, which was set in Lander last year at a balmy 68 degrees. Riverton’s all-time high on Thanksgiving was set in 2006 at 64 degrees.

Dubois and western Fremont County residents could see some snow flurries beginning Thursday night. Most Fremont County residents will see snowfall late Friday and throughout the day Saturday.
