    Tennessee resident dies in crash north of Cheyenne Sunday

    (Cheyenne, WY) – 61-year-old Loudon, Tennessee resident James H. Fitts has been identified by Wyoming Highway Patrol as the victim of the February 6th crash on I-25 north of Cheyenne.

    At around 10 am, WHP responded to an overturned tractor-trailer around milepost 25 on I-25. According to their release, Fitts was northbound when he drifted off the right side of the roadway before he overcorrected back to the left. He then re-entered the road before colliding with a guardrail, causing it to overturn.

    Fitts was wearing his seatbelt and transported to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, where he later succumbed to injuries.

    A possible medical condition is being investigated as a potential contributing factor.

    This is the 4th fatality on Wyoming’s roadways in 2022 compared to 14 in 2021, 5 in 2020, and 16 in 2019 to date.
