    Surge of thefts reported in Riverton over weekend

    (Riverton, WY) – The Riverton Police Department (RPD) responded to a combined total of nine reported thefts and attempted thefts during this past weekend.

    Three of the thefts were reported at residences and an office located on East Monroe, East Pershing and Forest Drive. The reported stolen items include tires and money; one of the locations only noted belongings in their house were gone through and nothing was taken.

    The other 6 thefts were all from either locked or unlocked vehicles on North 2nd St. East, Apen Drive, Spire Drive, East Lincoln Avenue, North Federal, and North 5th Street East.

    Wallets, loose money, tools, and planners were among the stolen goods from these vehicles.

    RPD said in a statement emailed to County 10 on Tuesday that they are currently unable to confirm at this time if the thefts were committed by the same person(s) and if they were related in anyway.

    “There’s a good change that it is but we don’t know at this point,” the statement continued.

    However it is safe to say, make sure to lock those doors and secure your valuables Fremont County, and report any suspicious activity to your local law agency.
